Virginia Fields Barber

Virginia " Jeannie" Fields Barber, 80, a resident of McDonald, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was retired as a Social Service Aide for the Bradley County Department of Human Services. Mrs. Barber was the daughter of the late Clifford and Leo Jordan Fields and was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Barber. She is survived by her sons, Robert Barber and wife Michelle of Ocala, FL, Mickey Barber and wife, Donna of Orlando, FL and Judson Barber and wife, Pam of Cleveland; daughter, Deborah Calhoun of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Hannah, Lily, Daniel and Michael Barber; brother, Richard Fields of Albany, GA and sister, Sarah Clance of Macon, GA. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery with Bobby Wood, Dean Ownby, Dan Elliott, Don Wyatt, Judson Barber and Bert Corbin serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
