Charles Edward Hilburn

Charles Edward Hilburn, 88, a resident of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011. He was born August 10, 1923 in Boynton, Georgia to the late Augustus C. & Phoebe (Keys) Hilburn. He was retired from Beacon Moving and Storage after 25 years, was of the Protestant faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Virgie Hilburn; daughter, Lynda Hilburn of Boulder, CO; sons, David Hilburn of Lansing, MI and Bruce Hilburn of Tampa; one grandson, Danny Robles. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
