Rev. Paul F. Barker, age 82, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 in a Baton Rouge, LA hospital. He was a native of St. Joseph, MO and a current resident of Baton Rouge. A retired Church of God minister for 67 years, he served the denomination as a pastor, evangelist, state youth director, and administrative bishop over three states. He also served as a member of the Lee University Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Grace Barker; and three sisters, Laverne Barker, Laveda Skoge, and Helen Barker. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Barker; three daughters and sons in law, Paulette and Roney Delaney, Debbie and Tim Burdashaw, and Beth and Jason Forbus; brother, Ralph Barker and wife Grace; six grandchildren, Philip Anderson and wife Alisha, John-Paul Burdashaw and wife Allison, Kara Randolph and husband Dustin, Becky Sue Burdashaw, Bethany Anderson and Lexie Forbus; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brianna, Kinsley and Jaxson to be born in the spring of 2012. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating.
