Robert Roy Johnson

Robert Roy Johnson, age 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his residence. He retired from Brown Stove Works after 34 years of employment then returned on a part-time basis several years ago. Roy was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Calvin Johnson and Eliza Lea Riggs Johnson; his wife, Billie Jean Spurlin Johnson; one son, John "Bug" Johnson; and brother, Ray Johnson. Survivors include one son, Michael Johnson (Sherry); two daughters, Donna Lawson and LouAnn Baggett (Jeff); daughter in law, Jennifer Johnson; all of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Michael Johnson II, Staci Johnson, Stephen Lawson II, Dustin Lawson, Corey Baggett, Callie Baggett, Chloe Baggett, and Jessica Johnson; four great grandchildren, Autumn Johnson, Chelle Johnson, Mikaila Johnson, and Miracle Johnson; and special friend Peggy Carver. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. B. L. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.
