E. James Aszman, 82, a resident of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was retired from Jackson Manufacturing where he worked in management. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was of the Protestant faith and was involved with the McMinn County Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Aszman; parents, Elmer Alvin and Rosaly Ruzek Aszman; and sister, Eunice Allingham. Survivors include his children, Mike Aszman and wife, Karen of Houston, TX, Rick Aszman and wife, Melissa of Alpharetta, GA, Jim Aszman and wife, Lori of Woodstock, GA and Carol Ammons and husband, Jay of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Matt Aszman, D.J. Shaffer, Jenny Aszman, Morgan Aszman, Rachel Aszman, Layne Ammons and Hunter Ammons; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
