Linda Lou Parks Garner, 72, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her residence. She attended First Baptist Church and Church at Grace Point. She was employed with Bradley Memorial Hospital for 27 years and prior to that worked at Mallory Battery. She loved to attend retiree meetings with fellow co-workers at Bradley Memorial Hospital even though she was in failing health. She was very proud to have helped the Salvation Army in last year's tornado relief effort. Mrs. Garner's greatest loves were her family, her dear friends, her hummingbirds, watching the animals on her farm and reading her Bible every day. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Bill" Garner; father, Everett B. Parks; mother, Johnnie Madge Howard; stepfather, Jack L. Howard; and sister, Peggy Meagher. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Garner Hicks and fiancé, Mike. D. Crittenden of Cleveland; son, William H. Garner and wife, Paula of Cleveland; grandchildren, Aaron Hicks and wife, Sarah, Amanda Hicks, Andrew Hicks and wife, Rebecca and Owen Garner; great grandchildren, Landon Hicks, Lane Hicks and Abygail Hicks; great niece, Alyson Hicks; and two special friends, Stella Davis and Mary Hernandez. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Phil Griffin and the Reverend Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tony Hernandez, Mario Santos, Daniel Marlow, Jack Duggan, Ryan Campbell and Chuck Burger serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
