James Allen Green, age 50, resident of Cleveland, left this earth to join his Heavenly Father on May 10, 2012. He was born November 30, 1961 in McMinn County and he was raised in Benton, TN. He was a 1981 graduate of Polk County High School. He was an employee of Petyon's Southeastern of 28 years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a true believer of God and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, antique cars, westerns and sports. He was an avid fan of Alabama football. He loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren who called him papaw and was the twinkle in his eyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Orphie Green, his father-in-law, Charles Davis who he also considered his best friend and recently a niece, Tracy Sliger. Allen will be sadly missed by his wife of 27 years, Victoria Green, his son, Joshua Green and daughter, Jasmyne and David Patton of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Hailey, Dylan, Colton, Nathan Green and Jamison Patton all of Cleveland; mother in law, Edith Davis whom he claimed was the best cook in the world and his sister-in-law, Sonya Case both of Cleveland; special nephews, Jonathan (Samantha) Case of Niota, TN and Christopher Case of Cleveland. Also surviving are his brothers, Charles (Joyce) Green, Madisonville, TN, Leon Farmer, Etowah, TN, sisters, Agnes (Ray) Tallant, Benton, TN, Thelma (Gene) Padgett, Chatsworth, GA, Teresa Jones, Florida, Freida (Jasper) Watson, Loudon, TN along with several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mikel Peak, Johnny Duggan and Jim Kimsey. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Scottie Martin officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Case, Christopher Case, John Case, Mikel Peak, Johnny Duggan and Jim Kimsey serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Green, Colton Green, Nathan Green, Jameason Patton, Dalton Case and Cody Visage.
