Peggy Imogene Kennedy, age 87, passed away Thursday evening, May 31, 2012, at her Maryville, TN residence. A native of Cumberland, Maryland, she was a former resident of Cleveland, TN. She was retired from the University of Maryland and was also employed part time at the Forestry Service in Cleveland, TN. She was a member of the Lionheart Fellowship in Maryville. In her younger days, she was a Big Band singer and also sang country music. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Michael and Kelly McClung, Maryville, TN; one granddaughter, Hannah Spresser, Cleveland and one great grandson, Malachi Spresser, Cleveland. One sister, Pat Hodgin, Cleveland, TN and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Peggy Kennedy will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Michael McClung and Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Mike Green, David Townsend, Sean Ward, Ben Brown, Greg Stepp and Jeremy Spresser serving as pallbearers.
