William "Al" Kimsey, 66, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and attended Henegar Baptist Church. Mr. Kimsey was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Local #5 Sheet Metal Workers for over 30 years, where he served on the executive committee and also a past member of the National Horseshoe Pitching Association He was a hard working, honest man who enjoyed cattle farming, playing softball, pitching horseshoes, family gatherings and sitting on the porch, but above all, Al loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Lloyd and Virginia Mae Cannon Kimsey; sisters, Louella Scammerhorn and Virginia Sevakis; brothers, M.L. Kimsey and James Melvin Kimsey; and father-in-law, Waymon Crisp. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Crisp Kimsey of Cleveland; children, Gina Knight and husband, Eddie and Jeff Kimsey and wife, Andrea, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Hillary Knight, Dylan Knight and Andrew Kimsey; mother-in-law, Nola Crisp of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Hoyle Ellis and the Reverend Harry Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
