Amanda Travis Jackson, 100, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the home of her daughter. Travis was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 1, 1911 to the late James Lucian Bomar and Amanda Victorine Bomar. She was a graduate of Stephens College in Missouri and attended the University of Missouri. Travis was a longtime communicant and at the time of her death was the oldest member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church. She had been an active participant of St. Luke's Altar Guild. She was also a charter member of the Cleveland-Athens Cotillion. She received her Life Master certificate in bridge in 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelom B. Jackson in 2001 and her brother, James Crawford Bomer and his wife, Louise. Her survivors include one son, James Nelom Jackson of Cleveland and two daughters, Amanda B. Jackson of Cleveland and Mary Caroline McGee and husband, Dr. Thomas Paige McGee of Franklin, NC. Travis was blessed with seven grandchildren, Elizabeth McGee Turner of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mary Kathleen McGee of Franklin, NC, John Eric McGee of Granada, MS and James Travis Jackson and wife, Heather, Jonathan Patten Jackson and wife, Molly, Amy Markham and husband, Joe and Christy Cannon and husband, Josh, all of Cleveland. She had two great grandchildren, Madison Louise Jackson and James Travis "Buddy" Jackson, Jr. also of Cleveland. The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Joel Huffstetler officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at St. Luke's Parish Hall prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, P.O.
