Naomi Ruth Sorrells

Naomi Ruth Sorrells, 78, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012. She was a retired clerk from Wal-Mart. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Sorrells was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Florence Manahan Kipe; husband, Harold B. Sorrells; and daughters, Tina Sorrells and Brenda Conley. She is survived by her children, Monica Sue Cawood of Charleston, Barty Sorrells and wife, Elizabeth of Ruckersville, VA and Nina Phillips and husband, Nick of Riceville; six grandchildren, Karey Cofer, Brian Cawood, Lori Cawood, Alexander Sorrells, Nathaniel Sorrells and Nicole Phillips; two great grandchildren, Collin Beam and Courtney Beam; sister, Edna Flohr of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Van Sliger officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
