James B. Lakey

James B. Lakey, 63, of Cleveland, was born in Ridgecrest, NC on November 5, 1948 and passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 as a result of complications from open heart surgery. He was a native of the Asheville, NC area and relocated to Cleveland in 1981. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was also, or had been a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Veterans Administration, Cleveland Country Club, Professional Photographers of America, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, Photo Marketing Association and several other photographic associations. He was self-employed at Brightscreen, a business he and his wife started in 1981. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Ruth Johnson Lakey, father, Robert Edward Lakey and his younger brother, Robert E. Lakey. Survivors include his loving wife, Joanna Lakey; daughter, Amanda Lakey; grandson, Andrew of St. Pete Beach, FL; and two sisters, Glenda Beard of Florence, SC and Holly Massey of Conway, SC.
