George (Bob) R. Harris

George R. (Bob) Harris, age 65, resident of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012, at home. Mr. Harris was born August 26, 1947 and has lived in the Chattanooga area most of his life. He graduated from Bradley High School in 1964 and attended Tennessee Technological University from 1964 to 1966. He graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1972 with a degree in accounting. He became a C.P.A. in 1974 and worked for several different companies. In 1983 he joined with his mother and father in Harris Furniture and in 1986 purchased the family business. In 1998 he opened George R. Harris, CPA as well as B&B Storage and was involved with the management of Harris Properties. He served two years in Vietnam with the First Infantry Division in the Military Intelligence Division. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, mother, Myrtle, step son, Scott and step daughter, Sherry. 3 step granddaughters also survive as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
