Sterling Ray Stewart, 65, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012. He was born December 27, 1947 in Blakely, GA to the late John and Lois Stewart. Before he retired he worked as a truck driver and a carpenter. He was of the Christian faith and attended Tabernacle Worship Center. Mr. Stewart loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed going fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Fauvett Stewart Lynn and niece, Elaine Stewart Engram. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Dee" Stewart of Cleveland; children, Angela Stewart of Moultrie, GA, Lisa Stewart Carter and husband, David of Sylvester, GA and Chris Stewart and wife, Amber of Cleveland; step children, Renee' Mize and husband, Jimmy of Cleveland, Sheri Harper and husband, Paul of Delano and Vickie Kendrick and husband, Shane of Cleveland; grandchildren, Brandon Elrod, Tyler Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Stewart Carter, Austin Carter, Jackie McDonald, Erin Cordell, Ashley Taylor and Cody Mize; great grandchildren, Logan Elrod, Rylee Carroll, Landon Cordell, Ayden Taylor, Braxton Parker, Whyat McDonald and Journey McDonald; and siblings, Darsey Stewart of Quincy, FL, Herman Stewart of Plant City, FL, David Stewart of Albany, GA, Merle Turner of Lakeland, FL, Betty Craft of Huntsville, AL and Gwen Love of Dawson, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Chris Stewart, David Carter, Paul Harper, Brian "Doug" Craft, Brandon Elrod, Tyler Stewart, Jacob Stewart and Stewart Carter serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
