Jim Patrie

July 23, 1930 — November 20, 2012

Jim Patrie, 82, cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at a healthcare facility. Born in Norway, Michigan he served in the Navy and was later employed with Philco Electronics. He moved his family to Atlanta in 1965 and showed his entrepreneurial abilities by starting several businesses including Fashion Care Drycleaners. He was a Christian example as a husband, father, grandfather, friend and businessman. He was an Elder for many years at Mt. Paran Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Patrie and his parents, Ronald Edwin Patrie and Marceil Franz Patrie. He is survived by his children: Ron Patrie and wife, Vivien, Kathy Montalvo Rohsenberger and husband, Carl and David Patrie; eight grandchildren, Venice Patrie, Cole Montalvo, Logan Patrie, Marco Patrie, Jeanie Patrie, Weston Patrie, Luke Patrie and Grace Patrie; brother Jerry Patrie and wife, Barbara; and many nieces, nephews and special friends, including those at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead. Visitation will be at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna, GA on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Paran Church of God Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors David Cooper and Kent Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Mt. Paran Church of God Missions Fund, 2055 Mount Paran Rd, NW, Atlanta GA 30327-2921.
