Billy H. Chapman, 75, resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Cleveland area being born on April 22, 1937, the son of Roy H. and Pauline Chapman. Billy attended Bradley Central High School, where he played football and graduated in 1957. Billy was married to Linda Chapman on January 25, 1962. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He was a proud member of Cleveland's Old Timers Club Hall of Fame for Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pauline Chapman; and his brother, LeRoy Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Linda Chapman of Cleveland, one daughter, Holly Chapman Stanley and her husband, Joe, of Cleveland; sons, Blake Chapman and his wife, Lisa, of Newburgh, IN; and Kirk Chapman and his wife, Teona, of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren: Nathaniel Chapman, Trevor Stanley, Adriana Chapman, and Valarie Ruark and her husband, Matt, of Newburgh, IN; one great-grandchild: Makenzie Ruark; sister: Carol E. Nolen and her husband, Bill, of Cleveland; one uncle, Joe Charles Finnell of Little Rock, AR; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Grissom Funeral Home.
