David L. Holloway, age 65, lifelong resident of Bradley County, TN, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at his residence with his loving family by his side. David was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God and attended the Waymakers Sunday School Class. He was retired from the Bradley County Schools after 31 years of faithful service. During his tenure, he taught at Black Fox Elementary, Principal at Michigan Avenue School, Special Ed. Supervisor, Technology Supervisor and Elementary Supervisor. During those years, he coached basketball, softball and baseball. He was elected to serve as Superintendent of Bradley County Schools prior to his retirement. After his retirement, David taught for 3 years in the Georgia School System and was employed as a Funeral Director Assistant at Grissom Funeral Home. He was a past member of the Cleveland Rotary Club and the Gideon's. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a faithful friend. He is now absent from the body.he is Present with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Walter and Margaret Johnston Holloway. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Holloway. Three beautiful daughters, Jill, her husband Matt, Ingram, Merridith Holloway Wiseman and Whitney, her husband Kevin, White. 6 grandchildren, Chase Wiseman, Haylea Wiseman, Maddy White, Ella Ingram, Morgan White and Anna Ingram. Two sisters and one brother, Donna and Don Jones, John and Connie Holloway and Linda and Danny Keller. One nephew and two nieces, Dustin Jones, Tachsha Schoolcraft and Caroline Holloway. Two aunts and four uncles, Cora Davis, Joyce Allmon, Jack Holloway, Vernon Holloway, Bobby Holloway and Derryle Holloway. Two sisters in law, Pat and Jerry Akins, Linda and Larry McDaniel and one brother in law, Wesley Mitchell, Jr. and a host of friends. A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of David L. Holloway will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Church of God with Pastor Gary Sears, Rev. Paul Lee and Rev. Charles White officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Chase Wiseman, Kevin White, Matt Ingram, Jason Morris, Dusty Jones, Tucker Jones, Keith Rominger, Please Haruo, John Driver, John Dixon, Jerry Frazier, Gary Baldwin, Kenny Phillips and Rick Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Waymakers Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Church of God.
