Donna Silver Nichols, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Sevier County, but lived most of her life in Cleveland. She was a longtime member of Westmore Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and canning and was an accomplished oil painting artist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Nichols and parents, Jess and Cansada Randolph Silver. She is survived by her children, Suzanne Shelley and husband, Kenneth of Hattiesburg, MS, Joseph Nichols and wife, Phyllis of Cleveland, Steven Nichols and wife, Patty of Fair Hope, AL, and Sydney Young and husband, Mark of Columbus, MS; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Crouse of North Carolina; nephews, Bob Griffith and wife, Wanda and Eddie Griffith and wife, Linda, all of Cleveland; and numerous extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Wendell Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
