Miranda Hodges. 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away, Sunday, June 16, 2013 at her home. Randi, as she was often called, was born in Matoaka, West Virginia on October 11, 1941 to the late James Oscar Slone and Louvenia Stump Slone. Her family moved to Cleveland from Chicago in 1979 with the M&M Mars Company. Above all else, Miranda loved her Lord and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Buster Buck' Slone, Paul B. Slone, Lawrence E. Slone, Russell Slone, and Walter Junior' Slone; and four sisters, Hazel Slone, Ethel Slone, Bessie Thompson and Vivian Thorne. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bennie Hodges of Cleveland; two daughters, Kim Bagley and husband Brian and Glenna Rogers and husband Matt, all of Cleveland; two sons, Ben Hodges and wife Jill and Greg Hodges and wife Amy, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Ellen Miranda Hodges, Zachary Paul Sawyer, Miranda Gayle Sawyer, Grayson Stanford Hodges, Abigail Rose Bagley, Connor Stanford Hodges, Maxwell Stanford Hodges, Sophia Grace Bagley, Preston Stanford Hodges, John Ryan Stanford Hodges, and Ava Caroline Hodges; two sisters, Carnies East and Janice Cooke both of West Virginia; and three brothers, Anderson Slone of Ohio, Ray Slone of Illinois and John B. Slone of Illinois. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the South Cleveland Church of God. Interment will follow in a private, family gathering in Sunset Memorial Gardens on North Lee Highway in Cleveland. Her nephews, Tim Slone, David Slone, Keith Lambert, and Jimmy Slone; and her grand nephews, Jordan Slone and Brandon Slone will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are John Duggan, Kurt Schneble, and Jason Short. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made to benefit children through either Miranda's Fund for 4C Kids Ministry at Four Corners Church or The Royal Family Camps at the South Cleveland Church of God.
