Cecil Allen Ellis

Cecil Allen Ellis, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at Hospice Care of Chattanooga, on Tuesday July 9, 2013. He was of Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He received the WWII Victory Medal and American Defense Medal. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Abner Ellis and Julia Hedden Ellis. Survivors include his wife: Dolores Ellis of Cleveland; two daughters: Brenda Allen and husband, David of Lenoir City and Judy Lennon of Lenoir City; three grandchildren: Jennifer Brown of Boone, NC, Jason Allen of Austin, TX, and Ryan Lennon of Volo, IL; three great-grandchildren: Makenzy Lennon Perone and Tucker and Cooper Brown. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Micah Nicolaus officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Grissom Funeral Home in Cleveland. The family asks, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by Grissom Funeral Home, Mark S. Grissom, Funeral Director. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.ne
