Marguerite Smith Marguerite F. (Peterson) Smith, 91, passed away peacefully at a local healthcare facility on Saturday, July 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful member of the North Cleveland Church of God. She was born January 19, 1922, in north Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy T. and Lonnie Mae (Duncan) Peterson and by her loving husband of 58 years, Rev. Wilmon A. Smith Sr. Marguerite Smith was a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, for over 16 years. Previously, however, she served at her husband's side as a faithful pastor's wife for over 44 years in churches located in Maine, Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. She was also employed in several banks in a supervisory position throughout the years. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ashley and Judy Smith of Cleveland; two daughters and son-in-law, Martha Wong of Cleveland and Mary and Philip Morris Sr., of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren: Philip Morris Jr. (Denise) of Sevierville, Ralph Morris (Murielle) of San Antonio, Tex., Elizabeth Pace (Duane) of Cleveland, and Esther Hershman (Jacob) of Richmond, Va.; ten great-grandchildren: John and Hope Morris, Celine and Jeremie Morris, Sophie, Micah, Sadie, and Sarah Pace, and Henri and Julian Hershman; two nieces and a nephew, Jean Barnes of Clearwater, Fla., Allen Wright (Pamela) of Blairsville, Ga., and Gerri Letzring of McDonough, Ga. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1 to 3 p.m., at North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Revs. Philip Morris Sr., Cy Harris, and Cecil Guiles officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Philip Morris Jr., Ralph Morris, Allen Wright, John Morris, Duane Pace, and Rev. Larry Wilson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Women's Prayer and Praise group and the Unity Sunday School Class, both of which Marguerite Smith was a fond and faithful member. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Cleveland Church of God Building Fund.
