Mary Eyvone Gourley Hamilton

Mary Eyvone Gourley Hamilton, 63, a resident of Athens passed away at her home Sunday, July 28, 2013. She was a devoted pastor's wife and member of Walker Valley Community Church. Her passions in life were her faith, cooking and having a servant's heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Marie Powell Gourley; son, Jacob Hamilton; step-son, Chuck Hamilton and three brothers, Tom, Denny and Jack Gourley. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Reverend Larry Hamilton; she was a loving mother to her children, Pamela Arias of Athens, Connie Tipton of Cleveland, Tina (Bob) Bell of Tipp City, OH, Valerie (Scott) Young of Athens, Julie (Daniel) Denton of Athens, Isaac (Misty) Hamilton of Cleveland and Chad (Jessica) Hamilton of Cleveland; step-children, Tracy (Audrey) Hamilton and Christopher (Traci) Hamilton of Athens; she was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Sabrina (Carl) Pollock, Justin Arias, Jonathan (Laura) Green, Joshua Bell, Cherith Bell, Megan Tipton, Aaron Tipton, Levi Denton, Lexi Denton, Larissa Denton, Nicholas Denton, Uriah Young, Malicah Young, Micah Young, Madison Hamilton, Samuel Hamilton, Katelyn Hamilton, Emma Hamilton and Delcardo Bell; step-grandchildren, Sharee Hamilton, Hunter Jamerson, Brady Hamilton, Juanell, Celeste and T.J. Hamilton; three great grandchildren, Lyndon Pollock, Carson Pollock and Kayden Jamerson; sisters, Diane (Mike) Poteet of Englewood, Lennie (Marion) Croft of Madisonville and Faye Melton of Athens. Several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Walker Valley Community Church with her loving husband officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in Chestuee Cemetery in Madisonville. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
