Denise Annette McManus, 49, of Chattanooga, formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at a Chattanooga hospital. She was involved in children's ministries for many churches in the Church of God. She was a professional clown and professional puppeteer, which she used in her ministry. She was a member at North Cleveland Church of God. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Edward Hale. She is survived by mother and her husband, Wanda and Howard Clayton of Chattanooga; brothers, Harlan Hale of Chattanooga, Dan Clayton of Ft. Pierce, FL and Tim Clayton of Chattanooga; nieces and nephews, Aaron Hale, Matthew Hale, Dene Clayton and Lisa Clayton. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with the Reverend Mitch Maloney and wife Sharon, the Reverend Cecil Guiles and the Reverend Cy Harris officiating. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 in LynnHurst Cemetery, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church prior to the service.
