Robert "Bob" Johnson

Robert "Bob" Johnson, 89, of Cleveland, passed away, Monday, October 21, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from trucking for Bishop Baking Company. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #414, Ducktown, TN. He was a deacon at Bethel Baptist Tabernacle for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ollie Johnson of Farner, TN; brothers, Johnny, Gordon and Billy Johnson and sisters, Eula Mae Cheatham and Margaret Carver. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elease Gibson Johnson; sons, Robert "Poochie" Johnson and wife, Karen and Mike "Weasel" Johnson and wife, Marilyn; grandchildren, Melissa and Brian Beaty, Tasha and Phillip Whitted and Zack Johnson; great-grandchildren, Cole and Morgan Beaty and Blake Whitted; sister Mable Payne of Ashville, NC; many nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Childress and the Reverend Ronnie Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with his nephews serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October, 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Grissom Funeral Home, Mark S. Grissom, Funeral Director.
