Robert Anthony Sherlin, 49, of Cleveland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Mr. Sherlin was born in Cleveland. He was of the Church of God faith and attended Mt. Olive Ministries. He was a graduate of the class of 1982 of Bradley Central High School. He served in the United States Army and United States Coast Guard. For the past 20 years, he has been Director or Lead Person of Information Systems. He was currently employed with DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, AL. He loved the University of TN, music, sports, the water (pool or otherwise), grilling and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Sherlin was a gentle spirit who was always ready to share a laugh or sound advice if needed. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, French and Willie Mae Kinser; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Maude Sherlin and several other family members. He is survived by his daughter, his pride and joy, Madison Sherlin of Cleveland; mother, Gladys Sherlin of Cleveland; father, Bob (Boog) Sherlin and wife, Joyce of Cleveland; sister, Beth Rainey and husband, Lee of Cleveland; brother, Jay Ted Sherlin of Cleveland; one aggravating niece, Camryn Rainey; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends and family, Tommy, Diane and Kayla Beckler, James, Angie and Taylor Breeden, Brian Key, Jay Musslewhite, Lee Stafford, George Swanson and Jackson Marin; and very special friend, Cindy Marin. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Mt. Olive Ministries with Pastor Gary Sears and Reverend Mervin Sherlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Mt. Olive prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Children's Ministry at Mt.
