Dr. Robert L "C.J." Wilson passed from this earthly life June 7, 2014 at his home in Albany, California. He attended an historical congregation near his residence. Dr. Wilson was retired from the Veteran's Administration. During his retirement, he had been developing a program addressing PTSD for the Junior Colleges in the state of California. Previous to his retirement, Dr. Wilson was a National Project Manager for the Veterans Administration. He also served in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as the National Director of Occupational Health Psychology, receiving national honors for his efforts. Dr. Wilson served the Veterans Administration as an Educational Services Representative and as an Associate of Mental Health. Prior to serving with the Veterans Administration, Dr. Wilson was a Chief Psychologist at the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Dr. Wilson was also an adjunct professor teaching psychology in a Junior College in California. Prior to receiving his Doctorate at Auburn University, Dr. Wilson graduated with the University of Tennessee Knoxville class of 1976 and the Bradley Central High School class of 1972 where he was the president of his graduating class. Along with his devotion to America's Veterans, Dr. Wilson held interests in music, the arts, and the environment. He was an avid University of Tennessee fan, particularly of the football team. He remained connected with the hometown he loved and the people in it. Dr. Wilson was a friend to many and brought joy to any occasion as a master storyteller. Dr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anderson Wilson and Louise Belle Bible Wilson. He is survived by a sister Gwen Wilson Guy and brother in law Dwight A. Guy, nieces Emily Guy Holt and husband Jerry Holt, Lindsey Guy Sarden and husband Jay Sarden, and great-nephews Owen and Bobby Holt. He is also survived by many cousins, friends and classmates. A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home. Following the service, the Bradley High School class of 1976 will dedicate a tree to honor Dr. Wilson in Cleveland's Greenway Park. Family and friends are invited to this informal gathering and encouraged to share their own masterful stories about the joy of knowing Dr. Wilson. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dr. Wilson's honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
