Edward Head

Edward Head, 63, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his residence. He a corporal in the 18th Airborne and a Vietnam veteran. He was a good granpa and neighbor. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertha Porter Head; siblings, Lee Head, Ricky Head and Robert Head. He is survived by his wife, Susan Head of Old Fort; children, Jeff Head and wife, Ashley of Old Fort, Kevin Head and wife, Lila of Calhoun, GA; step-sons, Michael Johnson and wife, Kristi of Cleveland and L.J. Norwood of Athens; granddaughter, Breanna Head and step-grandchildren, Donahvan Adox. Abby Johnson, Alex Johnson, Landyn Norwood and Stetson Norwood; great-grandson, Aidan Heard; siblings, William Head, J.D. Head, Dennis Head, Freddy Head, Billy Head, Bernice Gordan, Jeannie Head and Wilma Head. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
