Nina Nelson Knight

Nina Nelson Knight, 73, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at her home. Nina moved to Cleveland from Chicago 33 years ago. She was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, dancing and was a Lifetime Member of Ladies Auxiliary American Veterans Post 13. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Sally Pope; first husband, Robert B. Nelson and brother, William Pope. She is survived by her husband, Terry L. Knight of Cleveland; children, Jessie Skirmont of Bourbonnais, IL, Inez (Stanley) Giertuga of New Lenox, IL, Brenda (James) Kindred of Woodville, AL and Mary (Larry) Dorsey of Worth, IL; eight grandchildren, Tracy Skirmont, Jody (Matthew) Straight, Barbara (Todd) Marlow, Michael R. (Jamie) Skirmont, Amanda (Daniel) Meyer, Christina (Seth) Garlen, John (Charleen) Skirmont, Dana (Walter) Bruckner and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home with the Reverend Tom Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
