Timothy Jahue Stanton, 58, a resident of Ocoee, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Stanton, a native of Athens, TN, had lived in Houston, TX, for half of his life and moved back to McMinn County in 2001.
He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church of Etowah. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He loved to fish and had a big heart for others.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Judy Ann Stanton Hughes; paternal grandparents: Raymond and Leona Belle Stanton; maternal grandparents: Browder and Sylena Price.
He is survived by his wife: Melinda Minchew Stanton of Houston, TX; mother: Billie Sue Price Walden and husband Nick of Niota, TN; father: Raymond Stanton of Etowah, TN; two sons: Charlie Bowshier and wife Priscilla of Houston, TX, and Timothy Stanton and wife Jessica of Cleveland; three daughters: Stephanie Payne and husband Kenneth of Gallatin, TN, Sylena Sue Stanton of Franklin, TN, and Deborah Leana Stanton of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren; six sisters: Debbie Shelton and husband Ronnie of Pikeville, TN, Wanda Martin and husband James of Madisonville, TN, Dean Stanton, Raleigh, NC, Tammy Stanton, Rome, GA, Paula Cates and husband Bobby of Athens, TN, and Barbara Taylor and husband Jeff of Athens, TN; three brothers: Ricky J. Stanton and wife Cyrethea of Cleveland, TN, Keith Walden and wife Gidget of Niota, TN, and Raymond Stanton and wife Brenda of Calhoun, GA; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members and friends.
Service:
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland with Reverend Tim Woody officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. " 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the church prior to the service.
