James Jim Simmons, age 57, a resident of Lafayette, GA. and formerly of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away Thursday evening, September 19, 2013 at his home. Mr. Simmons was previously employed as a superintendent with Construction Consultations, Inc. He was of the Baptist faith. Jim enjoyed playing soccer and was a wonderful carpenter, a loving husband, father and true friend.
He was the son to the late Lillard Simmons and Helen Patterson Simmons.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Ms. Robin Simmons of Lafayette; two children, Jason Lee Simmons and Robert Allen Simmons both of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Kayla Ann Simmons of Lafayette; two sisters, Linda Snyder of Lafayette and Kathy Culver of Fort Oglethorpe; three nephews, Scott, John and Chris; one great nephew, Travis; best friends, Wolfgang and Chrissy Geiger of Lafayette, Ga. (Austria).
