Carolyn Minnick LaRoque, formally of Kinston, NC, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the home of her son in Chattanooga, TN.
She was born in Lynchburg, VA on June 16, 1922 to William Earl Minnick and Helen Hough Minnick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovit Hines LaRoque of Kinston, NC. She is survived by her son William Dunn LaRoque and his wife Anne of Chattanooga, TN; two granddaughters Meredith Buch and her husband Stephan of Schweinfurt, Germany; Elizabeth LaRoque of Providence, RI; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Marcus Buch. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Baily Wilkins of Amhearst, VA.
Mrs. LaRoque attended State Teachers College in Farmville, VA. An accomplished artisan, she made beautiful decoupage boxes and refinished furniture. She was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church in Kinston, NC. She contributed to her community with many hours of volunteer service, including 25 years at Marys Kitchen. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all.

Graveside services will be held at two oclock on Thursday, April 4th at Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Marys Kitchen through St. Marys Episcopal Church, Kinston, NC.
