Rex R. Dotson, Sr., 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his residence. He was an avid golfer, and was an active member of the Elks Lodge, Cleveland Country Club, and a social member of the American Legion
He was the son of the late Hayden and Bertha Mae Dotson of Clyde, NC. He was also preceded in death by his sister Hellan Johnson of Clyde, NC., and two brothers, Jack and William Gayle Dotson of Cleveland.
Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Wanda Dotson, son, Rex R. Dotson, Jr., and wife Jeanine of Cleveland, three daughters; Desiree Brown and husband Ted of Hudson, FL, Trish Watson of Niota, and Theresa Vaughn and husband Ronnie of Riceville, eight grandchildren; Rex R. Dotson, III, Chris Avaritt, Ty and Taylor Brown, Zack Rayl, Gabriel Watson, Joshua Vaughn, and Callie Vaughn, and one great-grandchild, Avelyn Dotson. Special friends, Jerry and Carol Deal of Dalton, GA, also survive.
