William O. Bill Davis Sr., 83, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at a Chattanooga hospital. Bill was of the Protestant faith. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a 32nd. Degree Free Mason, as well as a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Polly Calfee Davis and parents; Briz and Angie Walker Davis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Bud Davis.

He is survived by his loving children; William Billy Davis of Calhoun, Linda Davis Forrester and husband David of Cleveland, JoAnn Davis Parrish of Cleveland, Cathy Davis Gee and husband Johnny of Calhoun, Sandra Davis Beard of Calhoun, Christine Davis Rutledge and husband Daniel of Calhoun, Fay C. McDaniel, a daughter by choice, for 40 years and husband Archie of Cleveland. He is also survived by sisters; Gladys Wallace and husband Jack of Jacksonville, FL, and Sammie Jean Allen of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren David Forrester, Dr. Brandon Forrester, Anjie Callahan, Dr. Jake Parrish, Jarrod Gee, Pansy Beard, Samuel Beard, Billie Lynn Piner, Jesse Davis, Murphy Davis, and Alexis Rutledge. A life-long friend Bob Brinkley along with 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, & extended family also survive.

The family would like to specially thank Donna Chanclor, Kathy Lewellyn, Tony Pharr, & Tracy Van Nostran of Guardian Healthcare of Cleveland.

Service:

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012, 2pm at Kinser Church of God with Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Friday November 9, 2012 at Kinser Church of God.

Mr. Davis worked tirelessly in his endeavors to raise funding for disabled children. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, (Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL. 33607) In memory of Bill Davis.
