Barry Big Daddy Ricketts, age 67, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at a local hospital. The son of the late Charles and Aurora Aranjo Ricketts, he was born in Massachusetts, lived in Kennesaw, GA for the last 20 years before spending the last year and a half in Cleveland. Barry was a retired veteran of the United States Army with 20 years of service and served two tours in Vietnam. He loved riding motorcycles, Antique cars, and spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his godparents, Joseph and Bellbina Aranjo; and brothers, William, Robert, and Joseph Ricketts.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Britt Ricketts of Cleveland; son , Patrick Ricketts of Kennesaw, GA; stepchildren, Claudia Fields of Griffin ,GA, Andrea Wheeler of McDonough , GA, Adriana, Cody and Madison Kincaid all of Cleveland; granddaughter, Madison Ricketts; step-grandchildren, Janiah Kincaid, Calie Ann Suits, Jon Paul Wheeler, and Zander Kincaid; sisters, Bernadine Ricketts of Medford, MA, Geraldine DeBellis of Rochester, MA, Joanne Rinderer of Taunton, MA, Diane Record of Taunton , MA ; brothers, Charles Ricketts and wife Genny of Lincoln, NE. and Joseph and Barry Aranjo of Taunton , MA . Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service:
A graveside service will full military honors will be conducted Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:30 PM from Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend David Crump officiating. A white dove release ceremony will follow the services.
