Dorothy Alberta Blackwell Ledford, 92, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Mrs. Ledford was a well-known businesswoman who with her husband, Beverly, owned and operated Superior Cleaners for 32 years. She was a faithful member of North Cleveland Church of God and was a member of the Unity Sunday School Class. A loving and kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly L. Ledford; parents, Reverend T.F. and Sylvia Blackwell; sisters, Mildred Case, Myrna Blackwell, Norma Day, Naomi Trimble and brothers, Luther Glen and Thomas Frank, Jr.. She is survived by her sons, Keith (Mary) Ledford of Altamonte Springs, FL and Gary (Mitzi) Ledford of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Jeff (Alicia) Ledford, Beverly (Howard) Wilson, Chris (Tracy) Ledford, Wenonah (Daniel) Burger, Beth (Timothy) Farina and Robert K. (Shannon) Ledford, II; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Ledford's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Reverend Cecil Guiles officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with a white dove release concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
