Ernest Pink Howard

Ernest Pink Howard, age 86, resident of Benton, TN, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014, in a Rhea County medical facility. He was a member of the New Smyrna Baptist Church. He was retired from Bendix and Bower Roller Bearing Co. in Detroit. He loved to farm and he loved to work. He liked to hunt and he liked the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Howard and parents, Zachary Pink Howard and Ruby Creekmore Howard. He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Sandra and Tom Haskett, Benton, TN, grandchildren, Misty (Nathan) Renfro, Benton and Butch Arthur, Cleveland, TN, step grandchildren, Darren (Daphne) Haskett, Brian (Nancy) Haskett, Cyndi (Tony) Brooks and Gina (Jim) Halenar; one great grandchild, Savannah Renfro. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tom Haskett, Butch Arthur, Nathan Renfro, Darren Haskett and Ralph Bates serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Mark Grissom, Funeral Director.
