Robbie Withrow Gobble, 81, a life-long resident of Bradley County, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and she dedicated her life to taking care of others and putting their needs first. She had a servant's heart and her zest for life was contagious to all that knew her. Robbie played basketball at Bradley Central High School from 1948-1952. She was also the FFA Queen in 1952. She was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame for basketball in 1997. She was an avid bowler with an average of 187. She worked several jobs throughout her life and continued to help anyone in need with her time and her friendship. Robbie married the love of her life, Joe and spent many hard hours helping on their dairy farm. At the age of 50, she became a Certified Nurse's Assistant, so she would be more prepared to take care of her husband's return to health from cancer and her mother's Alzheimer's disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, OL and Lennie Withrow and sister, Joy. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe Gobble; daughter, Robin Kaylor and husband, Mickey; son, Mike Gobble; special friend, Louise Farmer; grandchildren, Chad Kaylor (Elizabeth), Alison McCallie (Neil) and Abby Gobble; great-grandchildren, Will Kaylor and Claire McCallie; siblings, Faye Rollins (late husband Jack), Weedie Ware (Jack) and Gene Withrow (Paula). Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home with the Reverend Glenn Mosely and the Reverend Mark Barber officiating. Interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery in Brichwood. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the funeral home.
