Retha Goforth, 71, of Benton, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at a Chattanooga Hospice Facility. She was a member of the Benton congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved her church and being involved in the ministry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Adda Stewart and daughter, Karen Burchfield. Survivors include her son, Lonnie Goforth and wife, Angela of Benton; grandchildren, Nelson Goforth of Old Fort, Amber Sheler and husband, Brandon of Delano, Tabitha Wagner and husband, Scott and Tera Bales and husband, Ron; three step-grandchildren, Kayla Lawson, Monica Armstrong and husband, Cody, and Janashay Macoka and husband, George; five step great-grandchildren; siblings, Junior Pennington of Leatherwood, KY, Owen Pennington of Leatherwood, KY, Leroy Pennington of Nancy, KY, Yvonne Pennington of Leatherwood, KY, Shirley Turner of Harlan, KY and Shelia Pellasmas of Knoxville. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Benton Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
