James Leonard "J.L." Hooper, 87, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in a Chattanooga hospital. He attended New Salem Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and was a hard worked. He was employed with Foamcrete for the last 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Bessie Hester Hooper and son, Carlos Hooper. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Swanson Hopper of Harrison and sister, Irene Duggan of Sale Creek. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Chattanooga. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
