James Fate Walls

James Fate Walls, 83, of Murphy, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 1, 2014 surrounded by his family at his home. He was loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend. He was retired from World Carpet in Dalton. He loved the Lord and enjoyed helping people and doing for others. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend and son-in-law, James McClure. He liked playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his children eating hot dogs and doughnuts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Taylor; parents, James Dolphis Walls and Ollie Pendergrass Walls; daughter, Linda Faith Bear and siblings, Dennis, David and Herman Lester Walls, Verdie White, Effie McClure, Rosie Wiggins, Ada Walls and May Hicks. He is survived by his children, Nelva June Durrett, Sandra Caroline Greene and Connie Gay McClure, and husband, James McClure; grandchildren, Lisa Dockery and husband, Shawn, Angie Bates (Randy), Darin Cornwell, Wayland Davis, James Cooley, Jimmy Durrett, Eric Durrett, Matthew Durrett, Chris Bear, Shana Bear; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Dockery, Mylan Dockery, Ethan Dockery, Dylan Cornwell, Christine Cornwell, Caitlyn McGaha, Brooke Bates, Justin Bates, Alyia McGaha. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Frist Baptist Church of Murphy with Pastor Jimmy Tanner and Chaplin Bo Phillips officiating.
