Sandra Kay Merritt

Sandra Kay Merritt (Adaway), 66, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 surrounded by her family at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Mrs. Merritt was born and raised in the Fairmont Community in Birmingham. AL. She then moved to Ooltewah, TN, where she lived her whole life as a devoted mother and wife. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Steve Merritt; daughter, Stephanie (Justin) Gowan; grandson, Randall Sliger and siblings, Lillian (Johnny) Leslie, Hazel McCombs, Pearlie Mae McEntire, Paul Adaway, Steve (Teresa) Adaway and John (Teresa) Adaway. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Services has charge of the arrangements.
