Naomi "Ruth" Muncy Carroll passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. She was born on April 7, 1926 in Ravenna, Kentucky. She married Ralph Leonard Carroll in 1946, and together they lived in Cleveland, where they were co-owners of Carroll Printing. She was a long time member of North Cleveland Church of God. She loved to entertain and cook but most of all she loved her family. She published several cookbooks and was well known for her cooking. She was an avid book reader and enjoyed living in her home on the hill until moving to Brookdale Assisted Living last May. While there, she made many new friends and liked playing bingo and doing crafts. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and will be greatly missed be her family and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph, parents James and Susie Muncy, and her in-laws James Luther and Lettie Carroll, as well as 11 brothers, Carlos, Rolla, James Jr., Hillary, Bernard, Lester, Omar, Aden, John, Jack, Joe, and 2 sisters, Gladys Daniel and Mae Hornsby.
She is survived by her son, Jackie Carroll and his wife, Marlene;daughter Nancy Carroll and her boyfriend, Gary Conner; son, Scott Carroll and his wife, Melinda; her grandchildren Kristy and Tim Mason, Lindsey and Brad Self, Megan and Zachary Carroll; her great granddaughters, Jenna Cate Buckner and Isabella Self; brother, Gene Muncy and his wife, Dorothy; sister-in-laws Jewel Muncy, Dottie Muncy, Lois Muncy, Elaine Muncy, Patsy Carroll and numerous nieces and nephews from both the Muncy and Carroll families. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dixon Chapel at North Cleveland Church of God. A Celebration of Life service will follow after visitation. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home, Mark S. Grissom Funeral Director.
