Jerry Eugene Gates

Jerry Eugene Gates, age 70, a resident of Cleveland, TN, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born and spent most of his life in Dalton, GA before moving back to Bradley County 15 years ago. He was of the Baptist faith. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Willie Wooden and Ruby Gates Ogle; and one brother, Ray Wooden. He is survived by four children, Jason (Trasa) Gates of Crandall, GA; David Gates of Illinois; Loretta Patterson of Cleveland; and Angela (Steve) Burns of Benton, TN; three brothers, Carlton Wooden, Charles Wooden, and Donald Wooden; five sisters, Lily Young, Charlene Bunch, Evonne Barone, Mary Wooden and Kay Fisher; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members also survive. The family will hold a private ceremony Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Grissom Serenity Funeral Home. Arrangements by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home, Mark S. Grissom funeral director.
