Bill Meade

Bill Meade, age 96, resident of Charleston, TN, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 18, 2015. He passed away in a local hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country in World War II. He was a crane operator for Leonard Brothers Transfer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean VanHoose Meade and one son, Billy Gene "Jack" Meade. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Ronald Meade, Elizabethtown, KY; Judith (John) Wheatley, Lawrenceburg, KY; Nancy Meade, Cleveland, TN and Brenda (Carl) Presley, Calhoun, TN; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Greg Coulter, Darby Womac, Carl Presley, Burns Wheatley, Billy Meade, Bobby Meade, and Kelly Hamilton will serve as pallbearers. Alternate pallbearer will be Michael Blair. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
