Mrs. Lucille Lee Kelly, age 95, resident of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Born in Mt. Vernon, Monroe County, TN October 26, 1919, she grew up in Townsend. She was a retired elementary school librarian and married to Reverend John E. Kelly, a retired Church of God minister. They were married from 1947 until Rev. Kelly's death in March of 2010. They met at Bible Training School (BTS) in Sevierville, TN and served in the ministry in Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky. Lucille graduated from Lee College in 1969, and served as school librarian at North Lee Elementary in Cleveland for 17 years. She was also a part time reference librarian at Lee University until the age of 79. She was a member of North Cleveland Church of God. She was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Rebecca Lee, and father, Jesse James Lee, as well as two siblings. She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Wayne and Judith Toland and her husband John of Cleveland, and Miriam Pietkiewicz and her husband Bill of Shelbyville, TN; one son, Timothy "Chip" Kelly of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Nathan Wayne and Stephen Wayne III, Kelly Dean Pietkiewicz and Miriam "Micky" Pietkiewicz, and Lindsay Madison and her husband Levi, Spencer Toland and his wife Rachel, and Elsie Huie and her husband Josh. She also had five great- grandchildren. Prior to serving as a minister's wife, she held positions at the Blount County Agent's Office, the Aluminum Company of America in Alcoa, TN, after which she attended BTS where she met her future husband. A celebration of Lucille's life will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with Rev. Cy Harris officiating. Interment will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Lee University ibrary or the North Lee Elementary School Library. The family will receive friends Thursday at the church from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are being handled by Grissom~Serenity Funeral Home, Mark Grissom, funeral director.
