Wilma Ann Dixon

Wilma Ann Bailey Dixon, age 82, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 23, 2015, in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was born in Bradley County and spent a majority of her life here before moving to Chattanooga, TN, 10 years ago. She was a Charter member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and at the time of her death, was a member of McDonald United Methodist Church, and active in the choir and women's ministries. She was co-owner of Little Old Fort for 16 years and co-owner of Pizza to go. She is preceded in death by her parents; Austell Bailey and Ruby Chambers Bailey; and two brothers; Kenneth Bailey and Dennis Bailey. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Elbert Dixon, of Chattanooga; four children, Lee Ann Dixon and husband Phil Perry, of Nashville, TN, James and Deborah Dixon, of Woodstock, GA, Alan and Charron Dixon, of Ayr, Ontario, Canada, and Patrick Dixon, of New York City, NY; six grandchildren, Paula Dixon, Alex Mizell, Matt (Erica) Dixon, Adrian (Kelly) Mizell, Caedrin Dixon, and Ember Dixon; two great grandchildren, Olivia Dixon and Pierce Dixon; one sister, Judy Bailey, of Ooltewah, TN; and one step-great grandson, Hayden Ludin. Several nieces and nephews and other extended family members also survive. Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 26, 2015 at Grissom Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Bishop officiating. Interment will be at Lee Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 25 from 5-8:00 P.M. and also on Sunday from 2-3:00 P.M. at Grissom Serenity Funeral Home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, for donations made in her name, to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org. Arrangements are being held by Grissom Serenity Funeral Home.
