Helen Haney Ratcliff

Helen Haney Ratcliff, age 86, a longtime resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She passed away at a local healthcare facility in Cleveland, with family and friends by her side. Helen was a 1948 graduate of Bradley Central High School. She devoted many hours doing volunteer work for the American Red Cross and was a past president of the Bradley County Republican Women's Club. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers retiring with 30 years of service from Bell South Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Ratcliff. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. Haney and Gertrude Dodson Haney. Her three brothers, Chester L. Haney, Herman E. Haney, and Charles E. Haney Jr. also preceded her in death. A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her two sons, Gary S. Ratcliff and Jeff W. Ratcliff and his wife Cherie Dykes Ratcliff. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2015, from 10:00 to 10:45a.m. at Grissom Serenity Funeral Home and then follow in procession to Sunset Memorial Gardens for a graveside service at 11a.m., to be conducted by Dr. Jay McCluskey.
