Marvin "Lindsay" Neff

January 11, 1963 — August 18, 2015

Marvin 'Lindsay' Neff, 52 of Signal Mountain, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1981. Lindsay was a truck driver and was known by his friends as "Chew". He was employed by Hudson Materials of Chattanooga. Lindsay was an avid fisherman and a loyal Tennessee Vols fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, but confessed it was never the same without Dale Earnhardt. Lindsay was a selfless man; devoted to his family. He often donated his money and time to help those in need. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Lee Neff. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim Neff and his son, John Taylor Neff of Signal Mountain; parents, Bill and June Neff of Signal Mountain; brother, Scott (Nancy) Neff of Red Bank and his sister, Kristy Neff of Chattanooga; three stepchildren, Brandon Peace, Cristyn Woody and Wesley (Jessica) Woody of Rossville, GA; three step grandchildren; his very special grand playmate, Gracie 'Binky' Broom; uncle, John(Carol) Neff of Eatonton, Ga and aunt, Patty (Bill) Roth of California and first cousins, Debbie Wilson (Jowell) Thome of Atlanta, GA and Davey (Elizabeth) Wilson of Nashville. The family would like to thank Hudson Materials Company of Chattanooga for their support during this most difficult time. We would also like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga. Memorial contributions in honor of Lindsay may be made to The Chattanooga Food Bank, 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga TN 37406 or Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Blvd., Signal Mountain, TN 37377. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements were handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Mark S. Grissom Funeral Director. You may send and view online condolences at www.grissomserenity.com.
