Emma Jane Medlin passed from this life on Sunday, September 13, 2015 and went to her Heavenly home. She was born on July 5, 1929 in Caruthersville, Missouri. She moved to Cleveland, Tennessee in 1970. Jane joined the North Cleveland Church of God and worked as a proofreader for the Church of God Publishing House for 6 years. She lived in the North Cleveland Towers for 20 years where she made many life-long friends. For the past 3 years, Jane has been a resident of Life Care. Jane was an avid reader. She loved her large extended family and took a personal interest in everyone's life. She became known as the "Family Historian" because she kept a record through the years of all birthdays and special events. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bea Medlin of Caruthersville, Missouri, as well as 5 brothers -- James, Carl, Floyd, Roger, Don, and 2 sisters - Helen Hensley and Florence Hensley. Jane is survived by her sisters, Betty Johnson of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Mary Ann Spell of Hazlehurst, Georgia. She is also survived by 3 sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law, Kay Medlin and Caroline Medlin, both of Caruthersville, Missouri, Katie Medlin of Dahlonega, Georgia, and L.W. Spell, of Hazlehurst, Georgia. Jane was very close to her 36 nieces and nephews. There are 2 nieces and 2 nephews who live here in Cleveland - Regina Isom, Yaunna Higgins, Dennis Johnson, and Rebble Johnson. The other nieces and nephews are spread over the states of Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, and Arkansas. They are Teddy Medlin, Jeffrey Hensley, Donna Wilks, Wayne Medlin, Kathlyn Moore, Gail Medlin, Delores Kirby, Diane Stewart, Michael Hensley (deceased), Chris Tony Hensley (deceased), Demetra Grizzell, Ramona Ford Neel, Vicky Walker, Linda Munn, Mark Medlin, Denise Case, Byron Johnson, Tanya Hall, Jill Micco, Annette Medlin, Becky Weber, Debbie Darr, Carol Maynard, Pamela Treece, Amy Long, Don A. Medlin, Byron Medlin, Cherie Kirby, Clark Medlin, Beverly Swain, David Spell, and Paul Spell. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 4:00 - 5:00 P.M. at the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God. A Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation, from 5:006:00 P.M. Interment will be held in Caruthersville, Missouri.
