F. Blanche Easterly, age 88, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at a Chattanooga hospital. Born December 23. 1926 in Blount County, to the late Fred and Ruth Hembree Dixon, Blanche had spent the majority of her life in Bradley County. During WWII, Blanche worked on warplanes as a "Rosie Riveter" in Phoenix Arizona before returning to Cleveland to marry, raise a family before retiring from Duracell. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years at various churches. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks in the woods and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Easterly; sisters, Juanita Dixon, Louise Davis, Maxine Lowery; brothers, Jay, Bud, Hank, Eugene, and Dave Dixon. Blanche is survived by children, Joe Easterly and wife Violet of Old Fort, Don Easterly and wife Gail for Fort Myers, FL, Judy Thurman and husband Will of Cleveland, Freda Horner and husband Dan of Cleveland, and Shannon Harris and husband Randy of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Billy Easterly, Tony Easterly, Allen Easterly, Lisa Hall, Holly Brooks, Josh Calfee, Jesse Harris, and Joey Harris ,Regina Williams; sister, Susie Pyle of Heiskell, TN; brother, Ben Dixon and wife Alene of Clinton, TN, sisters-in-law, Barbara Dixon of Knoxville, and Shirley Dixon of Knoxville, Twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews, and other extended family members and oodles of friends. A celebration of life and home going service for Blanche Easterly will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September, 20, 2015, at Ridgeview Baptist Church with Brother Ken Purdie and Brother Van Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Moore's Chapel Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. A white dove release will conclude the services. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the church.
